WEBER-SOLTEC® PROCESS FOR DECONTAMINATING RADIOACTIVE OILS
In 1994 BERNATOM developed an innovative process for the on-site reduction in volume of specific nuclear waste. This patented system enables the lowering of radioactive values in oils used in primary pumps in nuclear reactors, to below the exit threshold of 2 Bq/l.
Thanks to WEBER-SOLTEC® many European nuclear plants have been able to reduce the volume of contaminated oil waste by up to 99% of the original volume.
ADVANTAGES OF OUR PROCESS
-
Economical
- Low treatment costs.
- Reduced costs and risk relating to storage of contaminated oils.

Simple and mobile
- Simple and mobile.
- Easily decontaminated equipment
-
Fast working
- Depending on type of oil, power to decontaminate 200-600 litres in 24 hours.
-
Ecological
- Decontamination fully carried out on site.
- Oils recycled without forming aerosols or ash.
- Decontamination below 2Bq/l threshold or below detection levels.
